Fresha Fees in Hong Kong: Subscription, Marketplace and Payment Costs

Fresha pricing and Marketplace fees vary by region. Use official account terms and your customer sources to estimate total cost and compare an independent booking flow.

Warm illustrated beauty desk with four neutral Fresha cost areas: subscription, marketplace discovery, payment processing, and messaging.

There is no single dependable public figure for the total cost of Fresha in Hong Kong. Salons should calculate subscription, Marketplace-origin new-client, payment and messaging costs using the currency and terms shown for their own account and region.

Fresha combines a calendar, marketplace and payments, which can be attractive to a salon that wants both business software and customer discovery. Pricing, currency and Marketplace terms can differ by market and can change. On 22 October 2026, even Fresha's Hong Kong-language pricing URL displayed a different regional currency in our check, so an old Hong Kong price copied from a blog post would be a poor basis for a purchasing decision.

Disclosure and method: This guide is authored by Kalendars, an alternative booking provider, and is not an independent review. It uses Fresha's official pricing and help pages, separates verified facts from questions for the supplier, and recommends calculating cost from your own account and customer-acquisition pattern.

The four cost areas to check

1. Subscription

Open the official Fresha pricing page while signed into the correct business region. Record:

  • the displayed currency;
  • whether the fee is per location, per bookable team member or another unit;
  • the features included in the plan you need; and
  • the notice and renewal terms.

Do not convert a price shown for another market and treat it as a Hong Kong quote.

2. Marketplace-origin new-client fees

Fresha’s Marketplace new-client fee guidance explains that a fee can depend on how the client was first discovered and on the applicable market terms.

The important distinction is first discovery, not simply the link used for the final booking. A customer who first found the business through the Marketplace may still fall under the relevant rule even if they later book through the salon’s website or social profile. A direct booking link is therefore not a blanket guarantee that no marketplace-origin fee applies.

Check the rate, minimum charge, attribution window and dispute process shown for your own account. Avoid assuming a universal percentage.

3. Payment processing

If the salon uses platform payments for deposits or checkout, obtain the current processing rate and any fixed component from the account terms. Ask which customer payment methods are supported in Hong Kong and how refunds, no-show charges and payout timing work.

Compare that with your existing process. With Kalendars, FPS or PayMe deposits go directly to the salon’s own account. Customers submit a transfer reference during a 15-minute hold, and staff check the account before accepting the booking. Kalendars does not automatically verify the transfer.

4. Customer messaging and marketing

Ask which confirmations and reminders are included, which channels are available in Hong Kong, and what happens after any included allowance is used. Separate transactional reminders from marketing campaigns when estimating volume.

If your salon already speaks with customers in WhatsApp, also consider the staff time needed to review and send messages. Kalendars prepares WhatsApp messages that staff send and mark as sent; it does not promise automatic delivery.

Calculate cost from where your clients come from

Take a recent three-month period and divide new customers into sources:

SourceMonthly new customersAverage first bookingFee rule to verify
Marketplace discovery[number]HK$[amount]Current region/account marketplace terms
Instagram, website or Google profile[number]HK$[amount]Confirm how first discovery is attributed
Referrals and returning customers[number]HK$[amount]Confirm whether any platform fee applies

Then add subscription, payment processing and message usage. Run three scenarios: a quiet month, a typical month and a strong month. This shows whether costs remain predictable as bookings grow.

Marketplace fees may be reasonable when the marketplace brings customers the business would not otherwise reach. They are less compelling when the salon already generates most demand through its own reputation, social content or referrals. The answer depends on the actual source mix.

Look beyond the headline cost

Ask Fresha to demonstrate these workflows using the plan and region you will buy:

  1. A new customer discovers the salon on the Marketplace, then returns through Instagram.
  2. An existing customer books through the salon’s direct link.
  3. A customer pays a deposit and later reschedules or cancels.
  4. A stylist is free but the required room or equipment is occupied.
  5. The business exports customer and appointment data.

Record the result and the official source for each answer. The official help centre and the terms shown to the account should take priority over old comparison posts.

Compare with an independent booking flow

Some salons want a marketplace. Others already have an audience and mainly need a branded path from Instagram, Google or WhatsApp to a live schedule.

An independent flow can look like this:

  1. Put the salon’s booking link in its Instagram bio and Google Business Profile.
  2. Send the same link in WhatsApp replies; the WhatsApp Booking Templates provide practical wording.
  3. Configure services, durations, staff and facilities using the Nail and Lash Studio Guide or Salon and Barbershop Guide.
  4. If appropriate, collect an FPS or PayMe deposit using the process in the Deposit Guide.

Kalendars’ launch plans are Solo at HK$119 per month for one service provider, Starter at HK$299 for up to three, and Growth at HK$799 for up to ten. It does not operate a customer marketplace or charge a booking commission. Growth includes staff-managed monetary stored value; it is not an automatic session-package counter.

Frequently asked questions

What does Fresha cost in Hong Kong?

Check the price and currency shown for your signed-in region and account. The Hong Kong-language URL did not provide reliable Hong Kong currency in our 22 October 2026 check, so an old HKD figure should not be used for a current decision.

Is every Fresha booking charged a marketplace commission?

Do not assume that. Marketplace-origin new-client fees depend on current regional terms and how the client was first discovered. Check your account’s applicable rate and attribution rules.

No blanket promise should be made. Fresha’s help material focuses on first discovery, so verify the customer’s attribution and the terms that apply in your market.

Decide with your own numbers

Fresha can be valuable when its marketplace, calendar and payment tools suit the salon’s growth strategy. An independent booking system can be easier to forecast when the business already attracts customers itself. Calculate both with the same team size, booking volume, customer sources and payment behaviour.
